NEW DELHI, May 10, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — The 2023 G20 Interfaith Forum, Partnerships in Action: towards “One Earth, One Family, One Future” took place from the 7-9th of May in the Baháʼí House of Worship, New Delhi. The event was hosted by the Baháʼí International Community, working in partnership with the Interfaith Alliance for Safer Communities and the G20 Interfaith Forum Association.
The G20 Interfaith Forum (IF20) was founded to bring together religious leaders, faith-inspired organizations, public officials, academics, and cultural organizations from all sectors to advance humanitarian values and understanding worldwide in the context of the G20 process. The IF20 has operated since 2014 and has provided a continuing international platform to explore ways in which religious communities can make meaningful contributions to global policy formation.
The New Delhi Forum was focused on the themes of India’s G20 Presidency: One Earth, One Family and One Future, and looked ahead to the G20 India Summit in September 2023 and beyond to 2024. Prior to the formal commencement of the event, H.E. Harsh Vardhan Shringla, Chief Coordinator of India’s G20 Presidency, addressed the forum and offered his vision from India’s presidency.
The forum built upon the success of the 2022 forum in the UAE, and prior G20 Interfaith events. The 2023 forum aspired to hear a wide range of voices, including but not limited to, historically underrepresented populations such as minorities, women, children, and youth, and relevant networks, as well as faith-based and interfaith organizations at local, national and international levels.
The New Delhi Forum focused on priority issues connected to the wider G20 agendas – climate change, refugees, child dignity, the food crisis, trafficking, anti-racism initiatives, protecting cultural heritage, conflict resolution, tolerance, education, COVID recovery and more general health care reforms, social protection and humanitarian reforms. The overarching theme of the forum focused on leaving no one behind, especially those in the most vulnerable circumstances. The aim of the forum was to raise awareness of these issues and create substantive and specific policy recommendations for this year’s G20 process.

The next G20 Interfaith Forum will be held in Brazil in 2024, followed by South Africa in 2025.

The G20 Interfaith Forum Association was launched in 2014, during Australia’s Presidency of the G20. It has progressed from a largely academic gathering timed to coincide with the G20 Summit to a sustained alliance of diverse religious leaders, practitioners from humanitarian, peacebuilding, and development organizations; and scholars.
